About Your Boudoir Shoot

Where do we shoot?

I typically shoot in my home studio in Atascadero, California. I also have a studio in Paso Robles and in downtown San Diego in the Gaslamp Quarter. Depending on where you're located we can choose from these three studios, or get creative and find an outdoor location or alternate studio located close to you.

What do I need to do to book my session?

To book your session contact me here! I'll get in touch and we'll find the perfect date for your session, and pre-consult (the pre-consult can be in person or on skype/phone). Once we have a date I'll send a contract and an invoice for the retainer (50% of the session cost) and then you'll officially be on the schedule!

Can I purchase more images that come in my package?

Of course! I always want you to walk away with something after the shoot, so ten images are included in your package, however we typically end up with 30-40 images for you to choose from and you may purchase as many extra digital copies as you like, or if you decide to purchase an album you will receive digital copies of all the images in the book.

Can I have a friend come with me?

Definitely! It is completely up to you on whether or not you'd like to have a friend along. Some women find it helps them feel more comfortable while others prefer not to have a friend watching their shoot. That option is totally up to you! I also offer group sessions if you're both interested in doing a boudoir shoot.

Do you post the images online?

Your images are never posted without express permission. These images are for you, and while I would love to use them to show other women how great a boudoir experience is, I will never share images that you have not agreed can be shared. Privacy is of utmost importance.

What is the turn around time for images and albums?

Your gallery of images will be ready in two weeks, at which time we'll meet and pick your selected images. Albums take 4-6 weeks from our ordering session to arrive. We can do rush orders but the fee is 50% of the total album cost to rush.

Do you do nude shoots?

Of course! This shoot is about an expression of yourself. We can do that as timid or as wild as you feel comfortable with. Intimacy doesn't have to be about being nude in the photographs, but it definitely can be.

Do you do couples boudoir?

Unfortunately I do not do couples boudoir but I can refer you to many wonderful photographers who do.

Do you do "dudeoir"?

Unfortunately I do not do "dudeoir" but I can refer you to many wonderful photographers who do.

What is your cancellation policy?

In order not to forfeit your deposit I require a 5 day notice if you can’t make your appointment. If you let me know 5 days prior to your session your retainer is good for an alternate date. If you cancel your shoot less than 5 days before your shoot there will be a $75 rescheduling fee due to rebook.

I have no idea how to pose, what do I do?

Never fear, showing up is your job, posing you is mine. Of course feel free to come with some ideas of certain shots you might want to do, however for the most part I'll pose you depending on the outfit and what is best for your body type.

Do you shoot on weekends?

Yes I do! I love to accommodate different work schedules and that often means shooting in the evening or on weekends, however if we have a time constraint (AKA upcoming wedding, birthday, anniversary) weekday availability will always be the quickest way to get in for a session.

What time do you schedule the shoot?

It varies throughout the year as I shoot primarily with natural light, but typically anytime from 8am to 5pm is what works best for light in my studio.

How long does the shoot last?

Between hair and makeup and the actual shoot it usually lasts 2 hours. The pre-consult and ordering session are typically about 30 minutes to an hour each.

Do you touch up the images?

I edit every image to ensure it fits within my brand and my style. In terms of airbrushing or photoshopping, I will always fix things like fly away hairs, blemishes and wayward straps or lines from clothes. However because this shoot is about celebrating you as you are I do not do photoshopping to your body but rather we make sure to work with poses that will best flatter your body. You are beautiful just as you are, I wouldn't dare try to photoshop you to 'improve' anything.

What do I do the week before my shoot?

If you want to be tan go ahead and spray tan, I have some great places I can recommend (Brow Therapy is one!). What is most important to me though, is making sure your fingers and toes are all uniform (polish or no polish is fine, but try to fix any chipped or mismatched nails before the shoot). Other than that, just prep your outfits so you make sure not to forget anything, and stay hydrated the day before!

What do I bring?

You can bring anything, it all depends on what you want from the shoot, and this is something we can cover in detail to get ideas for exactly what to bring during your consult, based on your vision for your shoot. But typically, I advise starting with a cocktail dress, bringing one solid color bra and underwear set, and something along the lines of lingerie.

How do I prepare the morning of?

Come in loose clothing, you don't want to have lines from jeans all down your leg once we start. Come with clean dry hair (either morning of or night before but ensure it is totally dry - unfortunately my hair and makeup artists have to charge a fee if they have to blow dry your hair as it throws off their timeline and makes them late for their next appointment), and a clean face. Once you arrive we'll sit you down, and let you enjoy being pampered for the next hour!
